Ben Walker is a qualified teacher and engineer with 15 years of experience across education and manufacturing, including 10 years in executive leadership. His roles include Managing Director and Operations Director in manufacturing, bringing real-world experience of teams, operations and change into his teaching. As an entrepreneur, he builds businesses and practical education programmes for a changing world.
Ben also founded Aptimate, helping businesses bring people and technology together through practical AI, automation, better processes and staff training. His work spans improving day-to-day operations, developing services and finding opportunities for growth.
He brings that experience into SST’s technology and entrepreneurship modules: helping learners identify a problem worth solving, explore how technology could help, test an idea and explain its value. Alongside technical skills, he emphasises clear communication, responsible AI use and the judgement needed to turn ideas into useful action.
